Some mapped, some mapless. Tappable. Journey
Light. Let’s check. Geared. Machine creaks but works. Knee
Bandaged. Not too many impedimenta.
Guts, luck, endurance, strangers count, not speed.
Forgot something. Scab opening up. These things
Happen. Reminder, reminder: the walking
There, not the shrine, is what makes pilgrimage. Heed
Everything. Every wrong right wrong left turn
Is a right signal. Sick? Everyone’s ill.
Canterbury Tales. Himalaya. Wailing Wall.
Scallop shell of quiet. Sunburn
Cream. Flask. Others’ hands may help, hurt. Engage.
Family, office, day, is the pilgrimage.
