Desires
They are like beautiful bodies that age has not touched
and which one lays gently with tears in a magnificent tomb
with roses at their head, and at their feet jasmine –
they are like such bodies, these desires which now are quenched
without ever having asserted themselves, without ever having
were it but one
single night of pleasure or one enchanted dawn
