yes as lovers we flow
to the sounding sea
poundings the sea hallows
the ever sun-brided sea
you rising out of the me
of me you pine for
in the sunshivering sea
the elements you pine for
in the sea of me
we lovers school the sea
flushed with rebirth
communing loins like
plucked ganders of foam
you can rise from the illusion
of me like mendicants burning
to deep kiss the holy noon
we lovers go to
the resounding sea
in a schooner of souls
herdings past history’s
fume and rack
and again you rise
out of the sea of me
with no illusions
of fireless voices
or the politics of hollow eyes
we lovers school the sea
in threshed enskyment
in madness and sad guitars
in summits of unshouldered beauty
in drums of brokered eyelids
connoisseurs of sunslips and slapsilver
we lovers school the sea
