Blue Moon
Your bloom excites me. I hold you close;
take you to my room,
breathe deeply into your secret folds.
Sensuous as a woman draped in silks,
expectant; fashioned in blue
cradled in the jewelled eye of a setting sun.
But tomorrow you will leave me.
Seduced by a summer’s breeze at my window:
petals, blue-floating
softer than a fairy-drift of down.
Your scent will enter me.
I shall be with you, in the morning, to touch
your naked stem,
to see you go…as a blue moon wanes.
