Yellow
The foolish yellow of the water-lilies /
The dark the all-agreeing river.
Autumn sings its dirge to me
Half the night in the chimney.
She pauses at last / raising her eyes
From her MSS / and acknowledges / almost
Smilingly / our existence –
Inquiring are there
Any / we’d like to hear
Again. Gleich alle! someone says
At once. Outside the storm
Still rumbles. And again she almost
Smiles. Watt III says another
Voice. Und I und
II I add. And so it
Goes on. “The political one about
The two cats.” Ja,
