Vacuum energy
This communion
once hotter than the centre of a new-burst star
with the being who gave me life
a force that sweeps aside gravity
propels the stars apart
this communion with one dead
diffuse through space and time
our fleshly life in the universe
afterglow of our dense beginning
released
in the energy of ever-reaching space.
Vacuum energy is the background energy of space,
an apparently anti-gravitational force pushing the galaxies apart.
