Residences
Narrow is the room of his belief. Often
he can hardly breathe in it. Bare
are its walls. It is poorly
heated. From the window one does not
see much.
Sometimes somebody visits and talks
of other places, more roomy,
in the woods or by the lake.
Sometimes he has been invited
to such places. Then he can feel
the shine and also the warmth. Lost he
runs through the bright rooms. Is
a guest. An alien.
Then he returns again to his own narrow
room. It is the only residence
he can afford. Perhaps after all
one day he will be able to see something
from his window.
