Sir Trevor Brooking CBE chooses If by Rudyard Kipling
Sir Trevor Brooking CBE chose If by Rudyard Kipling because the poem is motivational and inspirational, containing mottos and maxims for life which can be used as a blueprint for personal integrity, behaviour and self-development.
Sir Trevor Brooking is one of the great ambassadors of football with 47 caps for England and 627 for West Ham United. When he hung up his boots in May 1984, he had already achieved the distinction of an OBE. His latest title, however, is in recognition of his contribution to both football and sport in general, particularly at a grass roots level during his four years as Chairman of Sport England. Currently Trevor is Director of Football Development for the Football Association, and enjoys a busy media schedule with regular TV and radio appearances.
