Angel in the Living Room
Having swanned out of Gothic cathedrals,
their little niches, and renaissance paintings,
and all of William Blake's life, -
etchings, watercolours, poems, visions, -
they're everywhere now.
Bookshops,
workshops,
residential courses in Personal Development,
all have their angels.
They'll be swooping on bus-stops next.
And here's another one, there, in the corner.
First strum of my new guitar, and she can't
resist it, flapping her sanctity,
seeing herself, presumably, as a sort of Muse.
"Just to keep the demons out," she says.
