Poem for M
Marvelling at the algebraic elegance of your being
Princess in biker clothes
Motorcycle mathematician, rebel with a cause
Beneath a veneer of ultra-respectability
I lit the candles and arranged them in a circle
Around your leather clad body
Occasionally allowing hot wax to drop on you
While reciting, in the original Spanish,
Poems of Lorca, for my own would only serve to embarrass
Then proving I am on the side of the magicians
I performed yet one more miracle
Invoking the spirit of Blake
Someone else who knew fearful symmetry when he saw it.
