Equations
If indigo equals moonless nights and sleep
then sleep equals the softest of rain
against a dark window and time
a drift of passing days
towards the surfacing of dreams.
If dreams are islands in the deep
indigo of sleep then sleep is a window
dark with rain and the soft disturbance
of night pressing against the glass.
If time is a smooth surface waiting
for dreams to carve the pattern of their passing
then indigo is the colour of clouds and sea
and dreams are windows
opening to nights of rain.
