Valerie Bridge is a Creative Writing Tutor at Yeovil, edits the Friends of Arvon Newsletter and acts as Publicity Officer for the East Street Poets. As well as poetry, she writes novels, plays and short stories. Her work has appeared in 'some minor' publications and she has been a runner up in various competitions.
Chloƫ Meakin's poems have appeared in a number of magazines and three anthologies Wot not, Write and Shine and A Youth's Perception. She was shortlisted for the T S Eliot Poetry Prize in 1996.
Fiona Shackleton got second prize in the 1999 Ver Poetry Competion and her poems have begun to appear in magazines. Six poems are published in From Crinkill to Kathmandu, an anthology of poets from, or connected with Co. Offaly. In October she will be commencing an MPhil in Creative Writing at Trinity College, Dublin.
Rupert M Loydell is Managing Editor of Stride publications. A poet and abstract painter, his publications include The Temperature of Recall, a collaborative work with Sheila E Murphy (Raunchland online) and The Museum of Light which is forthcoming from Arc.
Anne Ryland recently moved from London to Northampton where she teaches at the Community Centre. She has been writing poetry for about five years and has had work published in several magazines. She was Commended in the recent South Light Poetry Competition.
Robert Etty's poetry has been published widely in magazines and five collections.
Edmund Prestwich spent his first fifteen years in South Africa. His poems have been published widely in magazines, a pamphlet, Homelands (Dagger Press) and a collection, Through the Window (Rockingham 1997). He is a member of Manchester Poets.
Helen Clare recently graduated from Lancaster University's MA course and now teaches Creative Writing via the internet. Her poems have been published 'here and there', including Faber First Pressings.
Charles Johnson is editor of the poetry magazine, Obsessed With Pipework. A librarian in Redditch he has tried a host of activities, including portrait-painter, astrologer, jazz cornet-player, tarot reader and guitarist before trying poetry 'as a last creative fling'. Poetry pamphlet A Box of Professional Secrets (Flarestack, 1995).
Nell Farrell lives in Sheffield, where she works in Social Work training. Runner-up in the Yorkshire Open Poetry Competition, the Bridport Competition and the New Writer Short Collection, her poems have been published in a number of magazines.
John Lindley's poems have been published widely, including two pamphlets, Pacific Envelope (1976), Cages and Fields (1982) and the collection, Stills from November Campaigns (Tarantula 1998). He is a member of Congleton Writers' Forum and Manchester Poets.
Dave Tarrant has run Manchester Poets for over twenty years, organising workshops and readings. His poems have been published in a number of anthologies, including Six (Six Manchester Poets, SBT Publications 1989) and Poems from the Readaround (Tarantula 1995)
