Ohne Wort, ohne Wort,
Rinnt das Wasser immerfort;
anderfalls, andernfalls
spräch’ es doch nichts andres als:
Bier und Brot, Lieb und Treu, –
und das wäre auch nicht neu.
Dieses zeigt, dieses zeigt,
dass das Wasser besser schweigt.Without a word, without a word,
