Amplified Man
A twenty-first century man is Dean,
A full on, funky rhythm machine.
Latest TV, CD, phones and tapes,
Ten speakers make sure that his house shakes
To the relentless deep boom
Of his favourite rap tune,
It’s a drug. He can’t do without it.
Switched-on, amplified, programmed for life,
He thinks the neighbours are certain to like
His insistent pulsing through the wall,
He’s the man in control, walking tall,
A super cool special one,
A volume phenomenon
With a synthesized drum for a heartbeat.
