Rackel & Sangomen

The fire that heals -
Cycles of water, cycles of fire.
Dragonfly’s incandescent bell
Of river, stream and melody;
Narwhal’s spinning spiral tusk
Of light and ice and melody.
I am chained to all life,
To the beating mind of earth,
But am a blissful prisoner:
The songs of trees and mists
And spider-lines, the music
Of a gold dune, an oryx
Sending out the two long shadows
Of its horns across the jewels of grains,
The dust our bones become.

You could not hear,
You would not hear.
Now you listen to your pain,
You listen to your pain.
But souls may begin again,
For there is a fire that heals.
If you find the fire inside you
And burn it into swords
You will challenge all the torture
As you listen to the children.

Rackel! Be still.
Be still, be still.
Listen to Sangomen:
In my skies I have
Healing I may breathe.
A chance of reprieve.
Be still. Be still,
Humble and still.
I will muffle all your voices
As you humble, as you still
As you humble, as you still.
In your silent heart be still.
The fire that heals
The fire that burns
The world that’s still
The world that turns
Rackel, dear Rackel,
You were still once
In the music of your heart.
Let me remember for you,
Let me remember
How we were still.
In the sky of our minds once
We knew no prisoners,
No prisons nor no torture.
We knew only the voices
Of the wise dead,
The truth of innocence,
The candle of a child
Before the painting
Of a whitebeard under the sun.
My tears, dear Rackel,
Carry the lightning of ecstasies -
The bliss-balm of the fire-rose
Blossoming in the blind gardens
Of the inner veils
Of the lovers’ red.
Dear Rackel, be still.
Let me pour all over you,
All over your pain,
All the light
Of the cooling sun,
Healing as a glacier wall
Against your blistered lips,
Healing as a glacier wall
Against your blistered lips.
The fire that heals
The fire that turns
The world that’s still
The world that burns
