leave me
the mountains have swollen
and clouds have spun
distance between us
and the thick blue sky.
no remorse
but miles of bare cliff
and this tearful sea
has become my battered cage.
it would be easy
to let this age
slip like sand
because my mind
has become a
cave at high tide
and my heart a fatigued swimmer.
