Free range poetry struts the yard
picking here and scratching there
for seeds of ideas, grains of truth.
Free range poetry makes a nest,
then lays a verse or two,
and sings aloud in pleasure, pride.
Free range poetry likes wholesome food
juicy bits, good oats and grit,
not GM stuff that stultifies.
Free range poetry enjoys freedom
to be as it shall choose,
to cackle, crow, or softly cheep.
