The Aerodynamics of the Bumblebee
A promised frost, the first frost of October,
the way it grips the air. The barrier
of my reflection, another room
with pictures on the wall. Words
a static buzz, but the best that can be said is
it does not exist but it is there waiting
like the tick of a clock, an apple half eaten
in a blue bowl. Clouds settle like islands,
their shadows valleys for the moon to walk in.
