What Goes Up
She is not the person she was
yesterday. She is bouncing along
today on a set of Zebedee springs
bdoing, bdoing, bdoing.
She thinks she could take off
her skin has shed
grown out of
and uncovered sensors
that rebound to all the vibes
thrown out by passers-by.
Yesterday was filled
with cutting finger nails
grown a fortnight in an afternoon
and all the rest had been the same
and same again
and no one threw anything else
her way.
Wound up
next will crack
bdoing. There is nothing deader
than a clockwork that went
bdoing. It will stop her
in her tracks
and then she’ll fall
we all fall down
with Autumn leaves.
Her Spring fever was a trap
feed it or starve it
will runs its course
and put a noose
round all the days drawn in
through fall and darker Winter.
