tan me
tan and stretch my leather
over
your foot, cut my point fine
down to a toe - like a nuzzle - necked
into a prow a sea fears
wrought me about your heel and instep
row the baddule holes
like soft gimlet suckers
on a squid, and thread
a black tongue up and over, each rim
sure as a lust-blind, filling tide coming in
lace me and let the sole shine
scored with a gripped knife for deep grip
let the upper equal the friction
will you do it
or become a comfortable
fit
without pinch, pain or the print
on the skin where the cut flaps meet?
how hold my step? You ....
how finish? .......
