Ice Hotel
I’d like to stay with you in that place
we read about in the brochure
where everything’s carved from ice
but even so is welcoming and cosy.
There’s only one hotel like this,
it’s precious and comes new every year.
You can sleighride or ski right up to the door;
they serve piping hot meals, mulled wine,
the ice beds are covered in reindeer skins
and you hang your clothes in ice wardrobes.
In spring, the hotel and all its furniture
melt away, become rivers, seas and sky.
