Eric Fischl's Party. [Based upon his 1982 painting 'The Old Man's Boat and the Old Man's Dog'.]
we took our clothes off
until we could not get naked
we drank until we could not get drunk
we fucked until there was no sex
we laughed until it was not funny
even though we bought the gas
put up and took down the sail
played with the frenzied dog
took turns to hurry the chores
the horizon would not disappear
spoiled all the way back home
we gazed speechless out to sea
the limping man still owned
the dribbling Dalmatian puppy
and every inch of that gorgeous boat
until we could not get naked
we drank until we could not get drunk
we fucked until there was no sex
we laughed until it was not funny
even though we bought the gas
put up and took down the sail
played with the frenzied dog
took turns to hurry the chores
the horizon would not disappear
spoiled all the way back home
we gazed speechless out to sea
the limping man still owned
the dribbling Dalmatian puppy
and every inch of that gorgeous boat
