Editorial
Another in The North’s bewildering changes of shape and size. We’d be surprised if it changes again (watch this space). We’ve decided to smarten ourselves up a bit. This latest format gives us more flexibility of layout and sits comfortably in the hand and on the shelf.
It also gives us room to print more prose. This issue it is Killick on Cook, the remarkable Derek Pell, Hartley on Larkin and Anaïs Nin on Anaïs Nin; for the next issue we’ve commissioned James Kerry to write on Ash, Auden and Ashbery, and we’ve asked Martin Stannard to be Martin Stannard. If you write prose - fiction or articles - let’s see some.
Also the standard of the poetry this issue is as high as ever - probably higher, thanks to the excellent standard of contributions received. Keep sending them in.
