Body Landscapes
JANE HARRISON works in various genres of photography. She combines working as a professional wedding and social photographer with her role as photographer /co-ordinator in community arts photography for her local Council’s Arts Unit. She also teaches at the local College and University. Her social photography is relaxed and contemporary in style. She undertakes commissions when time allows.
The set of black and white nudes featured in this issue of Dream Catcher is part of a project on landscapes. The photographer explores something other than the conventional ideas about landscapes and compares the shape and form, light and shade of the body with natural topology.
The images are lit so as not to be revealing or sexual in any way. The emphasis is on the elegance of the shape and contours of the body viewed in isolation from the rest of the ‘package’ of female sexuality and beauty.
