Cathex(is)
Flexing your claws,
you hypodermicate your dreams;
I see your nocturnality vividly extant.
You fly within,
wings transposed beneath my eyelids
as you glide towards the mouse
cowering inside of me.
Your pink-flesh nose becomes a beak,
your spittle breast turns from snow-white fur
to snow-white feather,
you glide down from the midnight moon
and snatch me, ceremoniously, from safety,
and then you awake,
and staring at me with your owl-slit eyes,
regurgitate my skin and flesh and bones,
before you stride off
as though it has been some hilarious kind of ‘hoot’.
