The Heavenly Host of Solar Angels
They had no language and were made of helium.
They came from the sun, they had no flesh, and
wore no clothing.
Their eyes burned everything and everyone that
they observed.
Laughter was their only but gleeful sound.
They had no sexual organs.
And they wanted to conquer the earth which they
regarded as a blob of dirt and its people decadent
and worthless barbarians.
Each solar being was timeless and not subject to
ageing or decay. He was made of fire. Each solar
being was three metres tall.
As a flotilla of them, 100,000 immortals,
frightily approached Washington D.C. from the air, the
U.S. air force shot tracer bullets at them. These
thousands of wasted bullets passed right through
their fiery furnace-like bodies, melting en passant.
The jaws of the fighter pilots dropped in awe,
aghast. Not at all furious, the solarians enveloped
the jet-powered American aircraft and merely
melted them, men and machines, until they were
nought. Laughter, the loud laughter of 100,000
solarians so triumphant, rang out in the skies above
the American capital, earthings below covering
their ears in great fear and with feelings of
doom. It was Christmas day. The solarians had
unwittingly started a panic.
