Gasping through holes
Sand eels
scrunch.
Birds searching.
Small fish mash
in damp sacks.
Undersized
the dropouts sink
still squirming.
A top soil of litter
sleazing
into grey sea scum.
Flatfish gasp through holes.
Netted eyeballs
pop with pressure.
Live fish
are living
minced.
Rubber boots
kick aside the dying.
Violence wriggling in
small instalments.
Dusk creeps
cringing in.
Rain dribbles pink bubbles.
Flakes of scales
cling silverly in gutters.
Thin blood trickles down drains.
Far below
the long lost lands of Dogger
shiver.
