Food for thought: electronic devices
eavesdrop as we speak. Shrouded trees
line the route to an empty playing field
where skeletons of stories are waiting
to flesh out inherited compulsions.
In the current atmosphere of suspicion
I am trying to be less controlled,
want to throw everyone off my scent.
They have all been so kind, but then
you start noticing their mannerisms,
the pitting on the forehead and slight
roughening around the eyes. What exactly
do they have in mind? Systematic exposition,
attentiveness to detail, and limited amounts
of light suspended in a dark and empty place.
