Watching him fall
From sturdy brackets of feet
he swings, no net
he is making catapults of air
sequins prisming.
A wreak of lions
the hot breath of clowns.
Hanging from his heels
in the breeze of applause
he dazzles unexpected skies
tent silenced as he transforms
angel to sacrifice
hurtling towards sawdust
bruised grass
mud the colour of bleeding.
And a girl on the seventh row cries.
he swings, no net
he is making catapults of air
sequins prisming.
A wreak of lions
the hot breath of clowns.
Hanging from his heels
in the breeze of applause
he dazzles unexpected skies
tent silenced as he transforms
angel to sacrifice
hurtling towards sawdust
bruised grass
mud the colour of bleeding.
And a girl on the seventh row cries.
