You speak in a different tongue.
I cannot understand your constant babble
with its changing modulations
from milky smooth running down your throat
to chocolate rich seductive
choking and nauseous.
I speak in several tongues
flaming, scorching, tempting
sometimes pouring soothing syllables
on to your fevered forehead
choosing which voice to use
speaking my own language
La langue or le parole but it is not the same for you
you speak man with a cap
C’est tous la meme pour moi ital M
I speak woman in lower case
and we both long for Pentecost.
