Tying the Knot
take the two ends -
grip them hard
as if you mean it -
bring them together
then cross them
put one end through the loop
you have made, then pull
at this stage, you must say
“I never thought...”
pull the two ends
in opposite directions
as hard as you can
the strain should show
repeat the process
until face-muscles twitch
and your arms ache
take care to say
“I never meant...”
it may sound hard work
but it’s worth it
remember to be tender
the result may not be pretty
but it will be effective
knots aren’t meant to be pretty
they are meant to be tight
when you have finished
say sorry
