January cold Oraibi night
in spectral moonlight
the snowy plain below an icy sea
up on this jutting reef
the village dark and lifeless
deserted buildings row after row
crumbling walls fallen roofs
weedy plazas
ghosts with flashlights prowl thru shadows
converging for rendezvous
