Parliament Hill Fields (text)
“If you are tired of London, you are tired of life”
(Roman London can still be seen, parks, galleries,
museums and wildlife),
Essentially trippers are found in the park,
Remembering the prayer of toil and worth,
Imagining an age when time stood still,
“Miniature London” could be seen from the hill;
Waterfowl looked as though they were here to stay;
Coots and moorhens joined in the fun of the day.
Good days, bad days, on which side of the fence,
The old chestnut comes to mind about
Recompense!
