The Safest Grazing
The faults in your secret, most unwashable linen:
A dot of iron-mould, a thread of hair,
The crumpled proof love packed you without care;
A wax seal, shiny with old needle-pain:
Is there no dusk so kind you’d release its hills
To these small scapegoats, roam with them to where
A thirst might lose itself in thirsty ripples,
And blushes close both eyes, or sly and lively,
Notice the look that declares their causes lovely?
