Editorial Note
Craig Watson's publications include 0.10 (Awede Press), After Calculus (Burning Deck) and Unsuspended Animation (Paradigm Press). Ralph Hawkins' books include Tell Me No More And Tell Me (Grosseteste Press) and At Last Away (Galloping Dog). Simon Perchik's books include Who Can Touch These Knots: New & Selected Poems (The Scarecrow Press), The Gandolf Poems (White Pine Press) and Mr Lucky (Shearsman Books). John Levy's books include Among the Consonants (Elizabeth Press).
Shearsman (new series) will appear at regular intervals throughout 1991 and 1992, each issue consisting of 12 or 16 A5 pages, including cover. Submissions for future issues are welcome and may be sent to the Plymouth address on the cover. All submissions should be typed, and in the case of translations should be accompanied by the appropriate copyright clearance from the copyright holder(s). Subscriptions cover four issues regardless of the length of time covered by those issues. The first four issues are likely to be published over a period of 8 months or less, judging by the work in hand, but thereafter the schedule may slip to 4 issues per annum.
The second and third issues will contain work by Guy Birchard, Larry Eigner, Alan Halsey, John Levy, Simon Perchik, Niklas Rådström, Nathaniel Tarn and Craig Watson. It is likely that two or more issues out of the first ten will be devoted to the work of a single writer or to a specific theme, such as translations from a particular language. The emphasis will be on poetry and non-narrative prose; criticism will not be carried unless the editor feels that the critical work itself stands up as an original piece of writing.
