The Mantle of Lovers
Waiting for you
In every step,
In every breath,
In every glance that slides lovingly
Into the cold maelstrom of memories;
Waiting for you on the summit of a frozen night,
And in the clarity of day
That sings itself in the nest of light.How slowly pass
The sounds of seconds
Round the axis of the dungeon of loneliness.
Behold!
It is I,
passing through the deluge of tears,
Cloaked with the night,
Treading on thorns and rubble;
It is I,
the old wound of the Earth,
A disturbed dream in the tired mind of the soil.
Where the voice softly fades out
There is a bridge spanned
to the mystery of the green breaths
of wakefulness;
It is I,
having no desire to go or return;
Waiting for you in every moment,
I am sitting with the night
In the mantle of lovers.
