Bill's Walk
So quietly he comes
down the warm farm lane
the dusty black dog
nose low to the verge
under beautiful dog roses
where the thick sweet scent of fox
lays heavy,
and plum, coloured
blackberry vines
their mushy fruit
all cluttered with insects
his old head nudges
rich red docks
and trembling plantains
as, with much shamblings he
urinates on the white campion
