from the sequence If You Love Do Not Fear God
As the Fig Tree Flowers
If you fall in love with someone
and the occasion your love is returned
does not coincide with your birthday
or the hour of your birth,
then you will know
that love happens
as the fig tree flowers
on a midsummer night
just at the moment of meeting.
