Meeting
Someone standing in the street. He is waiting for his
neighbour. The neighbour is at home, sitting on his bed,
resting his head on his hands, waiting for someone who
is waiting for him somewhere outside in the Street.
Neither of them moves.
The one in the street goes back home, sits down on his bed
and rests his head in his hands. The other, his neighbour,
gets up from his bed, goes out of the house and starts
walking slowly up and down the kerb in front of it. So as
not to look as if he had to wait for someone, he puts on
a casual air and hums to himself.
In the meantime, traffic in the town has not let up. Cars
shave past each other, and when two touch, the result is
an accident.
