Your fingers
Your fingers directing birds, happy they're still homing, that they still reach.
Your fingers practising the undulating rhythm of hills, holding on irises.
Your fingers deftly choring on, peeling yourself, letting me be revealed.
Your fingers summoning angels without even knowing,
loved more by them empty like that.
Your fingers first to feel I'm near, saving the words like coins in a motherly
knot of your handkerchief.
Your fingers peaceful as they close the last gate, tenderly proving dust
beautiful.
