Regret
So Piaf has said
regrets are not for singing
only plain speaking
Sinatra had other views
but to Piaf he was merde
Therefore no singers gather
and no orchestra tunes up
behind the curtain
on stage at Carnegie Hall
as the lights go down
[Tanka and reverse tanka on ‘regret’ – thanks to David Morley who set me up]
