Lippetts Hill, Chingford.
figures moving across this hillside,
their mouths..................
the words carried into the distance,
knowing only silence,
wind,
grass,
trees.
London, like a child's toy,
scattered along the Thames valley,
tower blocks,
almost straight lines.
Trying to imagine times when this was green,
when from this hill all seen were trees and fields,
but the eye knows no history,
seeing only the suns light
filtered through the cities smoke.
Even on clear days,
horizons are only vaguely seen.
