Monumental Masonry
By many places, many seas,
to this memorial I come
to mutter moans at this dumb tomb
oh you poor man and brother mine,
whom fortune mercilessly moved,
removed alas away from me.
Now, though, in the meantime please
accept these mourning mortal blooms
as is the grandparental custom
much moistened by fraternal tears
and now dear brother, brother mine,
hullo forever and goodbye.
Michael Money
Note: an attempt has been made to mimic the melancholy emphasis on the letter m which permeates the original poem. - Michael Money.
