Futures
The digital clock moves on; there’s a huge party,
computers fast-forwarding the century.
I see you as an old man, nearly bald and stooping.
I don’t see me
As for the children, that’s still more mysterious.
I think I glimpse them, with their look of you;
greying, crack-voiced, some time into the millenium,
glancing back to say - ‘if my mother knew....’
