Classical Education
We watch the new movies,
and Harold says he liked Yoda
better as a puppet. Not the effect
he has become. My son,
I say, maybe strings
connected the old master
and the Force; Jedi-like,
we mystically touched
through them some vast,
invisible power. Mac,
Harold’s older friend,
snorts: In the old movies,
the green guy had a hand
up his butt, no magic. Crap,
I declare. It smells of mortality,
as cords snap and Harold’s face
falls, and all I can think
to say nothing.
