England Again
England came through the casement window last night.
We ask each other why we are here,
and the streetlamps answer yellow against the hills,
a dog growls outside the pub.
This is the place where elves live.
This is the key that unlocks the door of desire.
This is the hand that lifts the latch of memory,
the gate to the garden of webbed silver and blue-black silk.
