Catching An Occidental
Bound in a silken cage, in a silken robe,
cords made from politesse,
my soft skin patted down with creams of flattery,
shadowed by smiles called The Delightful,
the faces round me tilted
to lighten up the eyes, lids widened,
indicating admired astonishment,
charm laid thickly on,
I sleep, losing my desire
to see into the darkness
where swords lie loosely tethered at the gate
and passageways grow spikes –
netted in lace of gold,
satiated with heart-stopping rice balls.
