Shall We?
Let us say be poor
And turn the wage
Packet on its head
And laugh at those
who busy and hurry,
Worry and study.
Shall we give it all up
And carve and cut
And listen to the music
Of our brightest hearts.
Shall we make others
Irritated by our threaded
Bodies, intertwined
With each teaspoon of love
As we rock together tightly.
Shall our tissue be bonded
And so walk we must
With our scalped sharpness
Not sever but huddled and meek.
Let us no longer read
Instructions but cook blindly.
