Sunrise
and the sea speaks
the way you knew
it would-
softly, like
breathing, like
a thousand, thousand syllables
of blue, like
eternity began
when you learned
the words for sea,
sky
and the infinite shades
of Caribbean blue
light, like
every wave
is part of another
and swallows you
whole.
